MOMS Club of La Verne

MOMS Club of La Verne is a part of The MOMS Club, an international organization founded in 1983 by a stay-at-home mother, Mary James.  The MOMS Club grew so much that it is the only international support group designed for all at-home mothers, regardless of religion, previous employment, infant-feeding choices, or the age and number of your children! We are a nonprofit organization representing more than 100,000 members and over 2000 chapters worldwide.

MOMS Club of La Verne, is always looking to meet new mom's in our community!  We offer a variety of activities for stay-at-home mothers and their children. On a monthly basis we offer a newsletter, a monthly meeting, field trips, playgroups, kid’s crafts and park days.  We have enjoyed strawberry picking at a local farm, attending a free concert at a park, visiting local petting zoos, touring a pet store, post office, fire station, story time, going to museums and more. Our monthly meetings have featured a talk by a licensed fitness instructor, medical professionals, a car seat safety inspection, and a representative from the American Red Cross speaking on infant/children safety.

Playdates offer opportunities for children to socialize through interactive group.  We meet at member's homes or at local parks. All members are encouraged to participate.  Our children often make close friends at playdates, as do the moms.

Once a month we gather on a special night for moms only. It’s a chance for us to let down our hair and enjoy a night out with each other. We have gone to movies, dinner, cooking demonstration, card stamping, scrapbooking and more. The moms really look forward to a night without the little ones and we are always coming up with new ideas of places to go.

MOMS Club of La Verne does have yearly dues of $30.00. We use the dues to pay for postage, copying, national registration fees and other club expenses. We invited you to attend two chapter meetings and/or park playdates prior to joining our chapter. When you join, you will receive our newsletter and calendar which contains a schedule for the month's activities and articles, recipes and other items of interest to our members. Once involved in our club, moms find it very easy to feel a special bond with the other members who share many things in common. We pride ourselves in helping each other be the best moms that we can be and in providing services to fellow members such as moms in need (in which we cook and deliver meals to members during times of special need). In addition, we have a private email loop in which members provide referrals and advice to other members when requested.

In addition to supporting each other, club members are also concerned about the community at large. We perform service projects and frequently conduct fund-raisers to assist local charities. Over the years we have raised money by selling See's Candy for our major Hoilday's. In addition, we have donated food, shoes, toys to various local children's and woman's charities.
